Brilliant and Expressive

Carpendale is a delightful athlete who has all the ability to shine equally at either dressage or show jumping. He is from the first crop of Contendro, a very much sought after stallion who consistently produces typey foals with correct conformation and refinement. The expressive and brilliant stallion was the favorite of his approvals and winner of his stallion test in Adelheidsdorf in 2000, victorious with his jumping score of 147.29 and fourth place among the 39 stallions tested with his dressage score of 131.09. His movement is extremely elastic with wonderful self-carriage in the trot and canter. He received a 9 for his walk, a 9 for the trot and a 10 for the canter for his exceptionally correct and elastic gaits. From Contendro's 1st foal crop, 12 sons were selected for keuring and 6 of them licensed. Since then more than 30 of his sons have been licensed so far and he continues to produce a disproportionate number of licensed sons, jumping competition winners, Verden auction foals and highly-regarded riding (dressage) horses. Contendro's bloodlines are wonderful with excellence in both dressage and jumping proven again and again.

Here are just a few achievements of Carpendale's sire: At the June 2007 Verden Elite auction, the highest priced horse, Codex One, was a licensed stallion by Contendro out of a Glueckspilz dam (JUST LIKE CARPENDALE !!!) selling for 170,000 Euros. Contendro also had the highest priced weanling in Germany last year at $65,000. At the Warendorf Bundeschampionate, 2007 for German jumpers, a Contendro was 2nd out of the 14 finalists. A Contendro daughter, Rheingold, scored the hightest in the mare performance test at Leurschau, earning 87%. A Contendro licensed stallion was sold to Holland last December and syndicated for 240,000 Euros. And from a 2005 article "Which Sire is Hot? An Analysis of the stallions in Hannover" it was noted that..."It is remarkable that meanwhile the sire Contendro made a name for himself in dressage. He received his high breed value of 138 points (76%)not only because of his own excellent performance test results but also from his approved and tested sons and daughters from his first breeding season in Holstein." While Carpendale's sire is quite obviously a most fantastic individual, it should be noted that his dam, Gigi, is a States Premium mare. Only the most prized and exceptional mares, having received above-average scores on their studbook inspection and having completed performance requirements, are awarded this status. Carpendale shows all of the promise his bloodlines would indicate. He moves with power and elasticity, is lovely to look at, demonstrates exceptional rideability, and is certainly on a path to becoming an equine star, whether it be in dressage or show jumping. Carpendale currently stands just shy of 17h.
