Long March was purchased in foal to Lion Cavern at the 2001 January Keeneland Sales. The resulting filly (Velcro) can be seen in the "For Sale" section under "Unbroken". Due to Long March's ability to jump and her three elastic and balanced gaits, she received an operation to remove a bone chip in her right front fetlock joint (which was very likely a race career ending injury). Despite the operation it is unlikely that Long March will be able to have a career in eventing. Long March could probably do trail rides as she is pasture sound, but even with very light work on the lunge it is clear to see that she favors that right front. Her dam, Warfie, is a graded stakes winner of $418,490.00. Long March recently had a breeding soundness exam, which she passed with flying colors.
